(Dpa) - The TV star and former model Anna Nicole Smith was pronounced dead Thursday after being transported to a hospital in Florida, according to a police source told CNN.

Smith, 39, broke into a hotel in South Florida, according to press reports.

"I can confirm she has died. It is also shocking to me, like you," said Smith attorney, Ronald Rale, told Reuters news agency. "I know nothing more. [Her lawyer and husband] Howard [K. Stern], obviously is speechless and mourning."

TMZ.com reported that Smith broke out at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and was rushed Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood just after 2 pm ET.

According to reports, Smith was found dead in his hotel room.

Smith was in a paternity test case regarding the paternity of her daughter Dannielynn, and other disputes, including a house that was in the Bahamas when she gave birth involved.

Earlier this week, Smith was included in a class of CA --tion against a company, Trimspa, where he served as spokesman. Trimspa manufacturing a product intended to lead to significant weight loss. The lawsuit alleges that the marketing of the product, Trimspa X32, was false or misleading.

Smith's son Daniel Wayne Smith died at the age of 20, just days after the birth of daughter Smith. Pathologist Cyril Wecht said a lethal dose of methadone and antidepressants caused cardiac dysrhythmia, leading to his death.
